Kefir grains – go green (at least in my kitchen)!
We are lovin our home-made water kefir grains so much that I now call them my “kefir babies”!
Just look how nice and plump they are… and the taste? Well, they are mild in taste and the texture is like steamed cauliflower but a bit chewier. (I would tell you the texture is more like baby squid but then you would probably gag!)
Today I had some home-made pineapple flavored grains on hand and whipped up this yummy creamy …..
GO GREEN KEFIR SMOOTHIE!
2 cups pineapple kefir water
2 oranges
2 grapefruits
2 stalks of celery
handful of kale
handful of parsley
a few frozen bananas
1. Blend all ingredients in a high-powered blender adding
pineapple kefir water to desired thickness
2. adjust flavors
3. pour into tall glasses & enjoy!
